Onlime has been providing Internet to residential customers in Sierra Leone since 2005. Delivery of Internet in the country is almost exclusively by wireless and Onlime has recently upgraded its wireless network using state-of-the-art technology to cope with the increased capacity available through the ACE fibre cable to Europe as well as to enable us to manage the growing demand for Internet bandwidth and data networks in Sierra Leone.
Our network comprises of a series of broadcast sites all around Freetown, providing full coverage, and we install a small modem on the outside of your home which connects by wireless to our network and by Ethernet cable in to your home. The Ethernet cable can connect to a router, switch, Wi-Fi access point or a single PC. We have added more broadcast sites in and around Freetown with redundancy at all the key locations, as we understand the critical need for our customers to be connected 24/7.
Our network is robust and every infrastructure link is monitored around the clock by our Network Operations Centre (NOC) at Wilberforce and you can be guaranteed a rapid response from our Customer Care team to any service issues.
Onlime was the first Internet Provider to activate services on the ACE submarine cable and we maintain fully redundant equipment at the cable Landing Station.
We are in the process of expanding our network upcountry and our first series of links with a capacity of over 400 Mbps is already operational, covering new towns and villages. Our provincial network is planned to grow rapidly over the next few months.
As part of the Onlime Group, we have the benefit of support and expertise from our technical hub in Europe and access to a growing network of fibre links around the world. We have our own dedicated POP in London as well as connectivity to other POPs in Amsterdam and Frankfurt. Onlime is interconnected with a number of Tier 1 global Internet providers and we offer a range of Internet products.
Whether for Onlime video or voice calls to friends and family, online banking, video or radio station streaming from your home town, or just sending emails and browsing the web, Onlime guarantees to give you a quality service. We offer special rates if you also have a business connection and we can assist you set up a secure VPN if your work requires it.
There is no cap on your usage, although we do operate a fair usage policy to discourage the bandwidth hogs. You can log in to your own Onlime Account at any time to update your personal details, check the status of your connection, your payment history and make payments online.
